Alkmaar City Run by night

About the race

The Alkmaar City Run by night is Le Champion's evening race through the old town, always on the eve of Ascension Day. The 10 kilometres does not set off until twenty to ten, from the Molenbuurt by the Canadaplein, finishing on the Kerkplein; you get an hour and a half, and the finish closes at midnight. At more than thirty-five points along the route there are DJs, acts and cheering zones, and residents decorate their own streets with garlands, lights and music. Earlier in the evening come the children's races and the Heroes Run, meant for people with a disability or a chronic condition — a buddy may come along free. After the finish the party carries on in the Grote Kerk.
