About the race

The 4 Mijl van Winschoten is an accessible city run through the centre of Winschoten, with the 4 mile main distance at its sporting core. Start and finish are on de Venne near Israëlplein, keeping runners and spectators close to the shops, cafés and restaurants around the Marktplein. Athletics club Aquilo runs the race organisation, with support from City Club Winschoten and Stichting Horeca Marktplein Winschoten for the atmosphere along the course. In addition to the 4 miles there are youth runs over 0.5 mile and 1 mile, so children can take part as well. The event feels like a compact running day for the town: manageable for runners, lively for supporters and approachable for anyone who wants to experience Winschoten on the run.
