4 Mijl van Groningen

About the race

The 4 Mijl van Groningen runs 6.4 kilometres from Haren to the Vismarkt in the heart of Groningen — a point-to-point, not a loop. The event has been held since 1987 and draws tens of thousands of runners each year, with spectators lining the whole route. Besides the main race there are a Kids First Mini 4 Mijl, a schools youth run, a business run and a separate competitive race for those running for time. Because the course falls slightly towards the city and finishes in the middle of the centre, it is a fast route with an exceptionally crowded final kilometre.
