The 20 km de Bastogne starts at the Mardasson, the memorial honouring the American dead of the Battle of the Bulge, and for this race that is no incidental choice of place: the subtitle Trail du Souvenir means it. From there it runs over country roads and forest paths around the town to the finish at the Centre sportif Porte de Trèves, where showers and changing rooms are waiting. There are two running distances, 20 and 8 kilometres, setting off shortly after one another. Walkers have a programme of their own with three family walks over 8, 13 and 20 kilometres, leaving the sports centre earlier in the morning. The event is organised by the town of Bastogne and the Lions Club.
