Wijckloop Trail

About the race

Wijckloop Trail is a trail running and walking event in Wijk aan Zee, starting and finishing at Heliomare in the PWN dune reserve. The course follows unpaved paths through the dunes and along the beach heading north, returning through the Kennemerduinen with the Kruisberg among the climbs along the way; Scottish Highland cattle are part of the scenery. Trail distances are 5, 10, 16 and 31 kilometres, the 31 combining the 16 with an extra loop north towards Castricum. Walkers can take on 10 or 16 kilometres. For children up to twelve there are kids trails of 600 metres and 1.2 kilometres. Most of the route is marked with fluorescent yellow arrows.
