Wiekenloop Bovensmilde

About the race

The Wiekenloop has been organised for almost forty years by the ice skating club Voorwaarts of Bovensmilde, a club that in summer therefore also caters to runners. The start and finish are at the club canteen on Molenwijk; parking and changing happen at the MFA de Spil community centre further along. The morning opens with three youth races over 500, 1000 and 1500 metres, after which the main distances follow: 4 miles, 10 kilometres and the half marathon. Young runners can also take on the 4 miles, and entry is free for everyone up to and including seventeen. The 4 miles and the 10 kilometres count towards the Midden-Drenthe running series.
