The Drenthe Trail starts and finishes in Norg and heads into the nature areas of North Drenthe. There are three distances: 7, 18 and 26 kilometres. The 7 is meant as an introduction to trail running, the 18 is the varied middle distance and the 26 leads through the finest ground the region has. The course stays on unpaved paths and deliberately avoids village streets and the repetition of a single circuit. Because the race falls at the end of December, it runs through a winter landscape: bare woodland, wet sandy tracks and little daylight. The event is organised by Enforce Sport Events.
