Velpe Mene Trail

About the race

The Velpe Mene Trail is a nature trail run in and around Tienen and Glabbeek, organised by Natuurpunt Velpe-Mene with start and finish at the Houtemveld sports centre. There are three separate races — 10, 19 and 29 kilometres — each following its own partly overlapping route, more than eighty percent of it on unpaved ground. Notably, parts of the course cross private land and leave the usual footpaths, so you reach places that are closed for the rest of the year. The field is capped: 175 runners on the 10 kilometres and 325 across the two long distances together, which are open only to participants over sixteen. Entry fees go entirely towards expanding and managing the nature reserves.
