The Twirreloop is the Wednesday evening race of Sportvereniging Friesland in Wytgaard, starting and finishing at the De Twirre village hall. The evening opens at seven with a one-kilometre fun run. Half an hour later the 5, the 10 and the 16 kilometres set off together, and only after that, at twenty-five to eight, does the 2.5 kilometres go — the reverse of what you would expect, so the short distance does not get in the way of the fast field. Entry fees differ: club members pay less than non-members, and anyone entering on the day pays two euros more either way.
