Tulpen Trailrun Callantsoog

About the race

The Tulpen Trailrun sets off from Camping de Nollen in Callantsoog and runs straight across the bulb fields of the northern tip of North Holland. You run along the wide headlands beside and between the fields — ground that is closed the rest of the year and opens for this day alone. There is no gun: between one and three in the afternoon you leave whenever it suits you, over 7.5 or 15 kilometres. No times are recorded either, so there is nothing to win. What remains is the reason to come: in late April the fields are in bloom and you spend a couple of hours running through colour that normally has a fence around it.
