Snertloop TAV80 is an accessible running and walking event in 't Veld, organised by the local athletics club. There are three distances — 5, 10 and 16.1 kilometres — all on public roads, with start and finish at JT Bloembollen on the Koggeweg. Entry is online only and closes well before race day or as soon as it sells out; race numbers are collected the evening before or on the morning itself at the Kogge sports hall canteen. Your race number doubles as your lottery ticket. Straight after the finish you are handed a bucket of pea soup — the element that gives this winter race both its name and its reputation.
