The Trail de l'Eau Blanche takes place in Lompret, one of the most beautiful listed villages in Wallonia, some five kilometres from Chimay. The setting consists of limestone rocks and wooded massifs, which gives the courses a markedly technical character. Alongside the individual distances of 11, 22 and 31 kilometres, with roughly 320, 630 and 800 metres of climbing respectively, the event features a twelve-hour format in which teams try to cover as many laps as possible. The starts are spread across the morning, with the longest distance going first. A village-festival atmosphere surrounds the race, with a concert, a bar and food throughout the day.
