The StartbaanRun is a race on Park Vliegbasis Soesterberg, over former runways and paved paths that are not all normally open to the public. The 5 and 10 kilometres are almost flat and lend themselves to a quick time in a striking setting; the ten-kilometre course stays entirely within the park. The 11.9-kilometre trail seeks out the unpaved ground instead and, besides the airbase, also takes in the De Paltz estate, with a few climbs along the way. For children there is a one-kilometre kids' run. It remains a performance run with a clear purpose: the proceeds go to local charities for children and young people in the region.
