The Springendalloop is an afternoon of running and walking in the Springendal near Hezingen, starting at Hoeve het Springendal on the Brunninkhuisweg. Runners choose 5, 10 or 15 kilometres and set off in separate groups; walkers cover 8 kilometres. The area belongs to the state forestry service and is fragile, so it has been agreed with them to cap the field at six hundred — which means entries regularly close well before the day itself. There is deliberately no official timing, but there is an official race clock so everyone can read their own time. Afterwards coffee or tea with home-baked cake is waiting, with a marquee, seating and campfires for anyone who lingers. This run is about enjoying it together rather than about a result.
