IRONMAN 70.3 Westfriesland starts in Hoorn's old harbour before heading into the flat Westfriesland landscape. The middle-distance triathlon combines a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike leg and a 21.1 km run. The bike course passes villages, dykes and open polder roads, while the half marathon returns through historic Hoorn towards the finish at Stadsstrand. With its fast, flat course, the race appeals both to first-timers and athletes chasing a strong time.
