Beetskoogkadeloop

About the race

The Beetskoogkadeloop is a spring race in the rural village of Oudendijk, put on by a local café together with the Hollandia athletics club. The morning starts with the youngsters: 1 kilometre for ages six to eleven and 2 kilometres for ages twelve to sixteen, with a medal for every participant and trophies for the winners. The adults then set off over 4 English miles and 10 kilometres. The route follows the Slimdijk, runs through Grosthuizen and over the Buutschoterpad, then returns via the Dorpsweg of Oudendijk and the Beetskoogkade to the finish. Quiet West Frisian roads and dykes define the character: flat, open and with little traffic.
