Sint Pietersbear Trail

About the race

The Sint PietersBear Trail runs over the Sint Pietersberg and through the ENCI quarry near Maastricht, a protected nature reserve where few events are permitted at all. There are three distances: 15 kilometres with some 365 metres of climbing, 20 kilometres with 500 and 25 kilometres with almost 600. The course alternates single tracks, climbs steep enough that running turns into scrambling, technical descents and wider forest paths. The race is cup-free, so bringing your own cup or soft flask is required; the aid stations hold water, sports drink, fruit and snacks, three to four of them depending on the distance. Start and finish are on the Lage Kanaaldijk, at the quarry itself.
