About the race

RunForestRun Holtingerveld is a small-scale trail run through a landscape strongly shaped by history. Setting off from the Schaapskooi Holtingerveld sheepfold, you cross a varied nature reserve with height differences, wet and dry sections and striking traces of the past: dolmens, burial mounds, war memorials and bomb craters. You choose between 11, 17 and 26 kilometres, so both steady runners and those wanting to go further are catered for. The organisers deliberately keep things small and focus on experiencing nature rather than on numbers; based on participant numbers, a sum also goes to a concrete nature project in the area the trail runs through. That keeps it a route full of variety rather than a predictable loop.
