Rondje Oude Ijsselstreek

About the race

The Rondje Oude IJsselstreek is a relay of Atletico'73 in which teams of seven runners together cover a circuit of roughly forty kilometres. Each runner takes on one stage, and those stages vary from four to seven kilometres, so the strongest does not automatically get the longest leg. Start and finish are on the club's athletics track; along the way the route passes Ulft, Silvolde, Westendorp, Sinderen and Voorst. The surface alternates between paved and unpaved and at times even crosses loose sand. Because team-mates follow one another by bike between the changeover points, the team stays together all day and the event turns as much on coordination as on speed.
