The Beekse Herfstrun is a compact autumn race starting from Uitspanning 't Peeske in Beek, close to the German border. The course is built around a fixed 7-kilometre loop: the shortest distance runs it once, the 14 kilometres twice and the 21 kilometres three times. All distances set off together at half past ten, women and men in one field. Start and finish are in the same place and the organisers deliberately keep things small with a maximum of five hundred entries; late entry is only possible while that cap has not been reached. The podium places earn vouchers. Dogs are not allowed, which frames the event clearly as a race rather than a walk in the woods.
