The Rode Loper Run sets off from the Beachpark in Stadskanaal and follows the Rode Loper, the path through the Vledderbos that gives the race its name. There are 5 and 10 kilometres on the programme and a kids run, but what sets it apart is who else takes part: framerunners and visually impaired runners with their guides start in the same race, not in a separate side event. That approach draws framerunners from across the Netherlands and beyond, and the crowd along the course waits for the last participants to come in. Anyone looking for a race where speed and accessibility sit side by side will find the clearest example here. It is organised by Stichting de Rode Loper Run together with the local athletics club.
