The Arnoud Magnin Wintercross is a cross-country race in the undulating nature area around Schipborg and the river Drentsche Aa. The course is a 4-kilometre lap past small pools, through scrub and over a drifting sand area, with almost no paved sections; you run it once or twice, giving 4 or 8 kilometres. The 8 kilometres sets off first from the Zeegserweg, the 4 kilometres follows ten minutes later. Participants must be at least twelve, and the 4 kilometres has its own youth category. The field is capped at three hundred runners. Registration, changing and the prize-giving all take place in the canteen of the nearby football club.
