The Red Hill Trailrun takes place on and around the Rodeberg in the Flemish hill country, starting and finishing on the Rodebergstraat with parking at Kosmos. Four courses step up neatly in difficulty: 3 kilometres with 70 metres of climbing as a child-and-parent run, 7.5 kilometres with 120 as a starters trail, 15 kilometres with 220 and 21 kilometres with 310. Unusually, the start is open: between nine and twelve you decide for yourself when to set off, which spreads the crowds and keeps the whole thing relaxed. The three longest distances have water points along the way. The race is run for the benefit of an organisation that helps people with cancer restore their self-image.
