The Puitenloop leaves from the SK Berlare football grounds on the Bosstraat. The morning opens at half past nine with the 1.2-kilometre kidsrun, followed at ten by the 6 kilometres, and half an hour later the 8 and the 11 kilometres go together. That last detail shapes the opening kilometres: two fields with different aims run alongside each other until the routes split. For those wanting more there is the 16 kilometres. The whole thing stays a village race on a club scale, with the football grounds as the gathering point and a programme wrapped up before midday.
