Paardenmarktrun brings running into the festival week around the Buitensluisse Paardenmarkt in Numansdorp. The first edition is organised by the Paardenmarkt team together with Atletiekvereniging Cromstrijen and has a compact evening programme from the N.S.V.V. and A.V. Cromstrijen grounds. The choices are straightforward: 1 km at 19:00, 5 km at 19:15 and 10 km at 20:00. In that way, the traditional Monday evening of the Paardenmarkt gains a sporting focus with a suitable distance for children, new runners and experienced road athletes alike. Its strength is the local setting: a village event tied to a familiar Numansdorp week, with the athletics club providing the race foundation.
