The Katerloop is the new year's race of A.V. Cromstrijen and sets off on 1 January at noon from the clubhouse on the Wilhelminastraat in Numansdorp. The course is short and partly unpaved, which suits the purpose: not performance but opening the year. The name — the hangover run — says enough about the hour and about the condition part of the field is in at the start. The set-up is deliberately small and club-bound, with the clubhouse as the gathering point before and after.
