Mohammed Farmani Avondloop

About the race

The Mohammed Farmani Avondloop is an evening race in the Groene Ster recreation area near Leeuwarden, starting at the Centrumplein. Two distances are on offer: 5 kilometres and 10 kilometres, the latter as two laps of the same course. The route runs clockwise past the Aqua Zoo, a campsite and a golf course, and passes partly through an area where dogs may run off the lead. The 5 kilometres sets off at half past seven, the 10 kilometres ten minutes later. The race carries the name of Mohammed Farmani, the trainer of Loopgroep Leeuwarden who trained runners in the Groene Ster every Saturday morning and died in 2018. AV Lionitas and Loopgroep Leeuwarden organise the race together.
