Midzomertriathlon Vlietland is a compact triathlon in the Vlietland recreation area near Leidschendam, organised by Duursportvereniging TTL. The race makes full use of Vlietland’s water and open space: swimming from the beach, cycling around Vlietland and the Vogelplas, and running alongside the water. Young athletes and school pupils race over the 1/16 distance; adults can take part individually or as relay teams over the 1/8 distance. That short, clear format makes the event suitable for a first triathlon experience, while still giving local multisport athletes a proper summer-evening effort.
