The Meppel City Run is a city run through the centre of Meppel, organised by Atletiekvereniging de Sprinter. On Sunday 31 May 2026, the main programme centres on 4 and 8 English miles: a paved, traffic-free course with start on the Grote Oever and finish on the Kromme Elleboog. The 8-mile race covers the same city lap twice, so spectators and runners see each other several times. Around the main race, the day is broader in scope, with a Kidsrun and school run, G-Run, Frame-Run and business run. The official course certification, timing, start waves and historic city-centre setting make it a true city race, while the inclusive events and charity element give the Meppel City Run the feel of a local sports festival.
