Bovenboerloop

About the race

The Bovenboerloop in Nijeveen is the autumn race organised by the triathlon club TZT'86, with a programme combining three distances: a half marathon, an 11.4-kilometre performance run and a 4 English mile. The set-up is accessible but has a genuine competitive edge, with prize money, a reward for course records and a token for the first man and woman over the 4 miles. Race numbers are collected at the clubhouse on the sports complex, where there are also changing rooms and hot showers, and aid stations line the route. That makes the Bovenboerloop feel like a plainly organised village running event where sporting ambition and local involvement meet, without becoming large or complicated.
