The Meidoornloop is the village race of Nisse, in the Zak van Zuid-Beveland, organised by De Zaklopers together with AV '56. The course is a single lap of 7.7 kilometres over the flowering dykes around the village, on minor roads and unpaved paths. Anyone running fifteen kilometres adds a second lap, which is slightly shorter because it skips the run-up. In May the hawthorn is in bloom, and that is where the race gets its name. Children have the Poldermijl and the Korte Poldermijl through the village, plus a free Snoepzakloop for the very youngest. Note: entry is by advance registration only, signing up on the spot is not possible. Bibs are collected in the village hall and you can change in the church on the square.
