The LoveLife Run in Enschede is a sponsored run organised by Fight cancer, held in the Volkspark. Participants raise money beforehand and then run together, often in teams from companies, hospital departments or groups of friends; people living with or beyond cancer are among the starters too. The day begins with collecting race numbers and a shared warm-up, after which participants set off in start groups, and it ends with the cheque moment when the total raised is announced. Those proceeds fund the GERMAYA study into the genetic causes of cancer in young adults. A share also goes to a local cause: in Enschede to equipment for hand and foot cooling during chemotherapy at the MST hospital.
