Le Trail Davois sets off from Dave, a village on the Meuse just south of Namur, and explores the wooded slopes around it. Three distances are on offer: 5, 10 and 15 kilometres. What sets the race apart is the canicross: on the 5 and the 10 kilometres participants can start together with their dog, a quarter of an hour before the regular trail runners. The field is deliberately kept small, capped at three hundred and fifty trail runners and fifty canicrossers, which keeps the narrow paths runnable. At the finish a cloakroom, refreshments, a bar and a small food stand are provided, so the event runs on into an easy-going afternoon.
