Lage Vuursche Ultra

About the race

Lage Vuursche Ultra is the 50-kilometre race Trail Events puts on in the woods near Baarn, starting and finishing at Natuurcamping De Zeven Linden, where a basecamp is set up in the middle of the forest. The route is run on GPX: there is no continuous waymarking, so you navigate yourself through historic woodland full of lanes, single track, forest paths and heathland. One moment you are in dense, dark pine and deciduous forest, the next on an open plain; in autumn the area is dotted with fly agarics. With around 150 metres of climbing this is no mountain race, but the distance and the self-navigation quietly make it hard. The field is capped at three hundred runners, aid stations are at most fifteen kilometres apart and finishers receive a UTMB index.
