La Charbonnade Run & Bike

About the race

La Charbonnade is a run and bike event in Charleroi, starting and finishing at the Bois du Cazier, the former colliery that is now a World Heritage site. The course also uses the adjoining Bois de Loverval. The format revolves around pairs: two participants set off together, one on foot and the other on a mountain bike, and they may swap means of transport as often as they like along the way. Two loops are on offer, a shorter one and one of sixteen kilometres, both of moderate difficulty, plus a five-kilometre family ride. Participants receive a starter pack with a technical shirt and entry to the Bois du Cazier site.
