The Marathon International de Charleroi Métropole starts and finishes at the Grand Palais, which also houses the marathon village. There are four distances: the marathon and the half marathon go off together at nine, the 10 and the 5 kilometres an hour later. The course uses the city itself as its setting — industrial heritage, quaysides and residential districts — and that is exactly what sets this race apart from a marathon built around flat kilometres. Association Vitafun organises the event. With start and finish in the same place the logistics stay simple: one point to gather, one point to come back to.
