The Kustloop of Vrouwenpolder is organised by the foundation of the same name and starts on the Dorpsdijk beside the Pelgrimskerk. The half marathon course runs for roughly nine kilometres along the Veerse Meer and across the North Sea beach, with woodland and dunes in between. That variety of surfaces makes the race harder than the flat Zeeland profile suggests, certainly with wind coming off the sea. Alongside the half marathon there are a 12 and a 6 kilometre, and the half can also be walked, with its own start time. Roughly every five kilometres there is a refreshment point. Walkers receive a T-shirt, runners a singlet and everyone a medal. The number of places is capped, so entries often fill early.
