The Jan Koudstaal Dijkloop sets off at the Avantri Stormbaan on the Nieuwe Singel in Schoonhoven and reaches its fiftieth edition. There are four distances: a youth run of 1.5 kilometres at half past ten, the half marathon at eleven and the 6 and 10 kilometres at twelve. The course follows the dykes along the Lek, with the half marathon taking in a semi-paved section of about two kilometres and a few ferry crossings. On a dyke the wind counts for more than the profile: out or back makes the difference here. The event is organised by Atletiek- en Trimvereniging Avantri.
