De Onderlingen Oliebollenloop

About the race

De Onderlingen Oliebollenloop closes the year out in the polder country around Schoonhoven. The course carries little traffic and runs through the area between Schoonhoven, Bergambacht, Vlist and Stolwijk, with the flat expanse of the Groene Hart as its backdrop. There are four distances: a 2-kilometre kids run, 6.4 kilometres, 10 kilometres and 15 kilometres, spread over the late morning and early afternoon. If there is snow or ice, the organisers switch to an alternative route. Afterwards every finisher gets a medal and, as the name promises, an oliebol. Avantri organises the race, which has become one of the region's fixed New Year's Eve traditions.
