The Indian Summer Ultra sets off at Camping Lente van Drenthe in Gasselte and offers three distances: 50, 75 and 100 kilometres, the hundred also runnable as a team. The time limits are firm but generous enough to walk where you must: fourteen hours for the 75 and the 100, ten and a half for the 50. The course stays largely unpaved, through the woods and sandy ground of eastern Drenthe, waymarked and with full aid stations. Because the race falls in October, a large part of the long distances is run in the dark. The event is organised by RunForestRun.
