The Holle Wegen Jogging has now run for thirty-four editions and owes its name to the sunken lanes around Hoegaarden: worn paths lying lower than the surrounding farmland. Start and finish are at Campus Mariadal. The day begins as early as seven with the walkers, who can choose distances from 5 all the way to 42 kilometres. In the early afternoon the children run, including the Karamellenkoers, free for anyone under twelve. The adult distances follow: first the 5 kilometres, three quarters of an hour later the 9 and the 14. The event rests on two youth houses, supported by the local Chiro and KLJ.
