Heuvelrugloop Maarn is a woodland run with start and finish on 5 Mei Plein in the centre of Maarn. The routes leave the village towards the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and the Kaapse Bossen, while the start and finish area keeps a compact village feel. In 2026 runners can choose the schoolchildren’s race, 5 km, 10 km and 10 English Miles; the former half marathon has been replaced by that 16.1 km distance for this edition. After the race, the square remains the heart of the event with music, food and drinks.
