The Halve Marathon of Erpe-Mere runs through the heart of the municipality and across several of its villages, taking in some quiet unpaved stretches along the way. The half marathon starts in Aaigem and finishes at the Steenberg estate in Bambrugge; the shorter distances of 11.5 and 3.5 kilometres set off from Steenberg itself. That split arrangement makes the longest distance a point-to-point while the other two start from the finish site. The course rolls gently, as the country between the Dender and the Scheldt does.
