The Golleloop is the village race of Wirdum, south-east of Leeuwarden, organised by the club SV Friesland. The start and finish are at the village hall De Golle on Swichumerdyk, which doubles as the race office and provides toilets, changing rooms and showers. The three distances of 4.5, 10 and 16 kilometres set off together in the middle of the morning, after which the course leads through the Frisian clay country around the village. You can enter online in advance until a day before the start, or on the spot at a higher rate. Club members pay less than other participants, which underlines the character of a club-run race.
