Gijzegem Loopt is the annual running evening organised by Instituut Sint-Vincentius a Paulo in Gijzegem, with start and finish on the school grounds on Pachthofstraat. The core is a road run on Gijzegem territory over 3.5, 7 and 10.5 km, each also offered as a G-loop, supplemented by 9 and 16 km trails with an open start. Earlier in the evening the children's events are on the programme, from the snoepjesloop to 400, 800 and 1,200 metres. That mix gives the event a broad setup without losing its local character: school, neighbourhood and runners come together in one compact location. For runners who like a fast, clear course there is the local 3.5 km loop, while the trail distances add extra variety to the 2026 edition.
