Gijzegem Loopt

About the race

Gijzegem Loopt is the running evening of the Instituut Sint-Vincentius a Paulo, starting and finishing on the school grounds on the Pachthofstraat. The evening builds from small to large: first the sweet run for toddlers, then the school distances of 400 and 800 metres and 1.2 kilometres, and from seven the street race over 3.5, 7 and 10.5 kilometres through Gijzegem. Every main distance has its own G-loop for runners with a disability, setting off a quarter of an hour after the regular field — a moment of its own, not a side act. Alongside that there are trails of 9 and 16 kilometres with a free start in the first hour, so you decide when to go.
