The Geuzenloop starts and finishes at the Pilatusdam in the old centre of Zoetermeer, and the course then shows both faces of the town: first Oud Soetermeer with its village streets, then Nieuw Zoetermeer with the former Floriade grounds and the Balijbos. There are three running distances of 5, 10 and 21.1 kilometres. Alongside them the day has a walking programme of its own reaching from 6 to 25 kilometres, run by the local walking group, and the Geuzenmijl with two distances for children up to thirteen. It is by some distance the largest running event in the town.
