Sterke Start Loop

About the race

The Sterke Start Loop is a fundraising run organised by Strong Babies at the Willem-Alexanderbaan in Zevenhuizen, held on World Prematurity Day. The purpose comes first: attention and money for research, kangaroo care and support for parents of babies born too early, too small or ill. Participants choose 5, 10 or 21 kilometres on a waymarked route in ordinary traffic, with a rest point offering drinks, snacks and fruit on the longer distances. New is the one-kilometre kids' run for six- to twelve-year-olds, ending with a few obstacles — symbolic of the hurdles premature babies have to overcome. Anyone who cannot get to Zevenhuizen can take a home ticket and run their own route during the same week.
