The Eldense Dorpsloop is a family race through the streets and green spaces of Elden, the village on the southern edge of Arnhem. The start and finish are on the grounds around Molen de Hoop, and the whole morning is given over to the race: there are four distances, each with its own start time and age group, from 600 metres for the very youngest to 5 kilometres from the age of thirteen. In the children's races one parent may run along free of charge. The course is deliberately flat and accessible, so that trained runners and beginners alike can manage it. The race is an initiative of Stichting Evenementen Elden, which organises village activities all year round.
