Egmond Halve Marathon

About the race

The Egmond Half Marathon is a winter 21.1 kilometres along the North Holland coast, starting and finishing on Boulevard Noord in Egmond aan Zee. The opening kilometres run along the beach, where wind and soft sand dictate the pace; the dunes follow, with unpaved paths and short, stiff climbs, before the route returns to the seafront. That combination makes it one of the toughest half marathons in the Netherlands, and a race that sells out well in advance every year. For children aged four to thirteen there are Kids Runs over 900 and 1,800 metres, both in Egmond aan Zee and at Camping Bakkum, partly on the half marathon course itself.
