Dwars door Wervik is a Friday evening street race through the centre of this West Flemish border town and along the bank of the Leie. The start and finish are at De Graankorrel on Sint-Jorisstraat. The evening opens with three youth races over 200, 500 and 1000 metres, arranged by year of birth and with a prize-giving straight afterwards. The 5 kilometres then sets off, followed by the 10 kilometres, which covers the same course twice. Anyone who did not enter in advance can still sign up until a quarter of an hour before the start. The prize-giving for the main distances closes the evening.
